Striker Alex Brosque has capped off the perfect year after he was named Sydney FC’s Hyundai A-League Player of the Year at the club’s annual awards night on Friday.

It’s the third time teammates have voted Brosque the Sydney FC Player of the Year following another stunning year leading the Sky Blues front line.

Brosque explosive pace, vision and deft touch ripped many an opponent’s defensive structure to shreds in 2009/10 – a year he played 29 A-League games, netted seven goals and added 11 assists.

Brosque and fellow strikers Mark Bridge and John Aloisi teamed up to form a potent attacking combination in a side that scored 42 goals this season – the third highest in the A-League.

Goal scoring midfielder Iain Ramsay was named Sydney FC-s National Youth League Player of the Year while 20-year-old Servet Uzunlar won the W-League award.

Aloisi’s stunning long-range goal against Melbourne Victory at the Sydney Football Stadium was voted the club’s Goal of the Year.

It was one of many crucial goals Aloisi scored for Sydney FC this season with his double against Perth Glory at Parramatta Stadium on Sunday 7 February keeping the Sky Blues in a position to claim the Premiership.

Aloisi set a new club record this season for the most goals in a season by a Sydney FC player after finding the back of the net ten times and as a result received the club-s Golden Boot award.

Overall, Aloisi has scored 19 goals in 55 A-League matches.
