An Alex Brosque hat-trick swept Sydney FC to an impressive 3-0 win over NSW Premier League side Sydney Tigers at Lambert Park on Wednesday night.
Brosque’s treble came within the first 10 minutes of the match, leading Vitezslav Lavicka’s side to its third consecutive win of the pre-season.
Brosque’s first goal came shortly after kick off when he volleyed sweetly from a well-timed Adam Casey cross, and he was in again a few minutes later when he punished the Tigers’ keeper for an error by firing a curling shot into the back of an empty net from distance.
The 25-year old was clearly in a class of his own, and when young striker Chris Payne skilfully beat two defenders before laying the ball off, Brosque was on target with the finish to collect his third.
The Tigers looked more composed in the second half in front of 3000 fans, holding Sydney FC to no further goals.
Striker John Aloisi was subbed on during the second half and the marquee man looked sharp in his first hit out of the pre-season.
The 33-year old came close with a header during his 30-minute stint, but in the end there was no addition to the half-time score.
The Sky Blues will play the fourth match of their pre-season program next week against the Northern Tigers on Wednesday night at Mills Park in Asquith.
