Brisbane Roar have signed championship winning defender Annabel Martin for the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season.
Martin brings significant finals experience to the Roar, having won the 2024/25 A-League Women Championship with Central Coast Mariners and also played in the club’s finals campaign the season prior.
The 27-year-old has more than appearances in the 100 appearances in the Ninja A-League, having debuted at Melbourne Victory in 2015 less than a week before her 17th birthday.

Martin’s journey then took her to Newcastle Jets for a season in 2019/20 before joining the inaugural Wellington Phoenix Women’s squad in 2021, where she came on as substitute in the club’s first ever game against Western Sydney in Wooolongong.
A stint in the NSW NPL followed with Sydney University SFC before Martin made the move to Central Coast Mariners for the 2023/24 season.
Roar Head Coach Johnathan Clemente said that Martin’s leadership and finals pedigree will bolster the squad heading into the new season.
“Annabel’s record in the league speaks for itself, Premiership & Championship winner with over 100 appearancesm,” Clemente said.
“Experienced leader and defender with quality at both ends of the field, I know she’ll run through brick walls to be successful and can’t wait to see her do it in Brisbane.”

Martin said she was looking forward to linking up with her new teammates.
“I am super excited to be a part of the Brisbane Roar family,” she said.
“This club has such a great history, and I look forward to getting straight to work with Johno and the girls to bring home more silverware.
“I can’t wait for the season to start and to be playing in front of all the passionate fans, competing and giving it my all.
“Playing away in Brisbane was never easy, so I’m glad to be on the same side now.”
Brisbane Roar kick off their 2026/27 Ninja A-League campaign against Martin’s old club Central Coast Mariners on Saturday October 17 at Spencer Park.
