Brisbane Roar boss John Aloisi says a settled starting XI has been the key ingredient behind his side’s late-season Finals Series charge.
Roar closed to within one point of the top six with a hard-earned 1-0 win over Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
Eric Bautheac’s classy free-kick sealed a fourth success in six matches, the last three of which have been played with the same first-choice unit.
Aloisi believes his team is moving in the right direction ahead of their trip to a potentially vulnerable Sydney FC in two weeks’ time.
“At the moment our consistency is good. It’s just making sure when we do play well we win matches and tonight we did,” Aloisi told Fox Sports.
“We have to keep on going like that.
“We haven’t won too many games at home this year and we’ve conceded a lot of late goals.
“I said to the boys before the game we have to find a way to win.
“We know Sydney didn’t get their win tonight and they travel for the [AFC] Champions League next week.
“Let’s hope we catch them on a bad day and we have a really good one because our boys are really starting to hit their stride now.”
