Sydney FC striker Mark Bridge is facing two weeks on the sidelines after his clash with Melbourne Victory defender Rodrigo Vargas in last Saturday-s season opener at Etihad Stadium.

Bridge was sent off in the 75th minute following the incident, and yesterday the Hyundai A-League-s independent Match Review Panel found Bridge was guilty of “violent conduct when not challenging for the ball”.

Bridge has until midday today to accept the sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.
