Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the signing of former Sydney FC goalkeeper Brianna Edwards on a two-year deal.
The 22-year-old New Zealand international makes the Sydney Derby switch after one season at the Sky Blues. Edwards spent the Ninja A-League off-season at NSW National Premier League side Illawarra Stingrays but returns to the Australian top flight to compete to become Western Sydney’s No.1 in the Ninja A-League 2025-26 campaign.

“I was looking for new experiences and opportunities to keep growing my game as a player,” Edwards explained.
“The Wanderers have a great set-up and environment, so that really pushed me to come here.
“We want to push for Finals Football. This team has so much potential, and I think we can make a real impact on the league. Personally, I want to continue developing and pushing my game. Get ready for lots of energy and a huge impact on the field.”
Edwards is the third new arrival at the Wanderers ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 campaign, joining Chinese duo Wang Ying and Yuan Cong at the club.
Western Sydney head coach Geoff Abrahams says Edwards will bring several important attributes to the Wanderers squad this season.
“Brianna is an experienced goalkeeper with international pedigree and a proven record in the A-League Women. She brings composure, confidence and leadership to our squad, and we’re excited to see her grow with the Wanderers as we head into the 2025/26 season.”
