Victory’s Besart Berisha and Bobo of Sydney FC have played significant roles in their sides’ runs to the Hyundai A-League Grand Final this Sunday.
The Melbourne Victory talisman and Sydney FC’s super-striker have led the line superbly and scored crucial goals this season.

So who is the more effective striker – Berisha or the Brazilian?
GOALS
Berisha’s semi-final strike was his 20th goal of the season, while Bobo has scored 15 times.
The Kosovo international has scored 40% of Victory’s goals, while Bobo’s goals represent 29% of Sydney FC’s total this season.
Berisha’s tally includes five penalties and Bobo’s three.
Berisha scores a goal every 119 minutes he’s on the park, while for Bobo, it’s every 150 minutes.
SHOOTING
Both players have exactly the same number of shots on target this season – 34.
Bobo has had slightly more total shots (67 to Berisha’s 57) meaning Berisha’s accuracy is slightly higher.
He’s on target with 59.6% of his shots, compared to 50.7% for Bobo.
AREAS OF IMPACT
Both strikers favour their right-foot, with 13 of Berisha’s goals (65%) and nine of Bobo’s (60%) coming in that fashion.
Neither player has scored a goal from outside the penalty area this season.
THREAT TO OPPOSITION
The numbers are very even here.
Berisha has created 35 chances this season and Bobo 31.
Both have laid on four goals for their team-mates.
The Brazilian has embarked on 29 successful dribbles to Berisha’s 21.
And Bobo has been fouled 33 times by the opposition while Berisha has been illegally halted on 36 instances.
Interestingly, Berisha has been substituted just four times this season, while Bobo has been replaced on 17 occasions.
PASSING
Bobo has made 654 passes, slightly fewer than Berisha’s 669.
But as far as accuracy is concerned, the Victory man is significantly better.
He passes at 79.2% accuracy, compared to Bobo’s 63.9%.
In the attacking half, just 59.7% of Bobo’s passes find their mark, compared to 77.6% of Berisha’s.
AERIAL PROWESS
Despite being just three centimetres taller, Bobo is far more active in the air.
He has contested 202 aerial duels, nearly three times as many as Berisha.
The Brazilian has won 92 of those duels.
DISCIPLINE
Bobo has been a slightly cleaner player, giving up 28 fouls to Berisha’s 37.
He’s been booked just once, compared to Berisha’s two yellow cards.
And Berisha has been flagged offside 37 times while Bobo has strayed off on 28 occasions.
