With EA Sports’ release of the FIFA 20 player ratings, conversation has already begun about which Hyundai A-League players will be most impactful in the new edition of the video game.
It’s a three-way tie at the top of the ratings with Melbourne Victory’s Ola Toivonen, Perth Glory skipper Diego Castro and Western United FC’s Italian star Alessandro Diamanti all with a score of 76.
But who else will make the final cut of a team made up of the best-rated players in the competition?
Compiling a best XI was no easy feat, and there were several bona fide Hyundai A-League stars who missed the cut by the narrowest of margins.
For example, Sydney FC fullback Rhyan Grant missed out on securing a spot on the right side of defence by one point.
New Melbourne Victory signing Adama Traore, meanwhile, is not yet in FIFA 20 after being a free agent.
In the end, we’ve gone with a 4-4-2 formation with a diamond midfield to accommodate the star playmakers the Hyundai A-League has at its disposal in 2019/20.
