Queensland-born winger Ben Halloran has signed with Brisbane Roar ahead of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Halloran has returned to his home state to play club football for the first time in more than a decade.
Two seasons at Gold Coast United and one at the Roar preceded a move abroad to German club Fortuna Dusseldorf in mid-2013, where he remained for five seasons.
A brief spell at Japanese side V-Varen Nagasaki led to his Isuzu UTE A-League return at Adelaide United in 2018, where he remained for the best part of six seasons – split by a move to Korean club FC Seoul in 2022.

SEVEN DEPARTURES: Brisbane Roar confirm seven player exits as revamp continues under Zadkovich
Halloran, a six-time Socceroo and 2014 FIFA World Cup representative, departed the Reds at the end of the 2023-24 season and has signed with the Roar for the second time in his career.
“I’m very excited and grateful for the opportunity to return to my home-town club and am eager to start a new challenge,” Halloran said upon his return to Brisbane.
“I can’t wait to join the team and hopefully win some silverware together.
“I have fond memories of supporting Brisbane Roar as a teenager and playing for the club as a 20-year-old. It feels fitting to be rejoining the club and I can’t wait to get started.”
Halloran is Brisbane’s third signing to join from Adelaide United along with Harry Van Der Saag and Ben Warland, and comes just hours after the club released seven players: Shae Cahill, Carlo Armiento, Nikola Mileusnic, Jonas Markovski, Ayom Majok, Taras Gomulka and James Nikolovski.
