Beister buzzing after ‘amazing’ Victory debut

New Melbourne Victory signing Max Beister can’t wait to taste more of the Hyundai A-League after a dream debut in his side’s 3-0 win over Western Sydney.

The German came off the bench to score the final goal in a clinical Victory display which lifted the home side into fourth.

“A debut like this is just an amazing feeling,” the former Germany youth international told Fox Sports.

“My body feels okay. For sure the first 10 minutes were very hard for me, for acclimatising to the game.

“I’m very happy now. In my first match in Australia I scored a goal, we had a victory, (it’s) unbelievable.

“I’ve been here for about three weeks and it feels just amazing to be here. I’m looking forward to the next games.”

While Beister’s long-awaited debut arrived with Victory two goals clear, the hosts were less comfortable in the opening 45 minutes despite capturing the lead through Oliver Bozanic.

“In the first half we didn’t play that well. That’s why the first goal for us was a little bit unexpected,” Beister said.

“But that’s how it goes sometimes in football.

“We scored the first goal and became confident and things changed to our side.”
