Angela Beard scored her first Melbourne Victory goal in stunning fashion against Canberra United on Sunday as Amy Jackson broke the club record for most Westfield W-League appearances.
A spectacular strike from Beard saw her open her account for Victory in their round 10 stalemate against United.
The defender’s shot from the left wing flew over the head of United shot stopper Keeley Richards before striking the crossbar and nestling into the back of the net.

The jaw-dropping effort was only Beard’s second goal of her senior career with her first arriving while donning the Brisbane Roar jersey just over five years ago.
The 23-year-old’s goal did not prove to be the match winner however as a Nikki Flannery equaliser just before the break ensured that Canberra escaped with a point.

The midfielder surpassed the record set by Gulcan Koca (66) when she started Sunday’s fixture.
The 33-year-old was given the honour of captaining her side in their 1-1 stalemate and was treated to a special presentation prior to kick off to recognise her incredible milestone.
Victory’s finals hopes lay in their own hands as they close in on their final four Westfield W-League fixtures.
Next up for Victory is a clash against Western Sydney Wanderers before home and away meetings with Perth Glory that are sandwiched in between a mammoth tie against leaders Sydney FC.
