Australian match officials appointed to final of AFC U-23 Championship Thailand 2020

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have announced the appointment of Australian match officials Chris Beath (Referee), Ashley Beecham & Anton Shchetinin (Assistant Referees) and Shaun Evans (Video Assistant Referee (VAR)) to the Final of the AFC U-23 Championship between the Korea Republic and Saudi Arabia.

The final will be held at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday 26 January 2020 (see attachment).

FFA Chairman and Chair of the FFA Referees Committee, Chris Nikou, congratulated Chris, Ashley, Anton and Shaun on their significant appointments.

“These appointments reflect the performances of Chris, Ashley, Anton and Shaun throughout the tournament,” said Nikou.

“We are very proud of their outstanding achievements and are confident that these Australian match officials will perform admirably in Sunday evenings final of the AFC U-23 Championship,

“To have these four Australian match officials recognised for their efforts shows their international calibre and quality,” concluded Nikou.
