Can Auckland FC build on their Premiership-winning season and get their hands on the Championship?
Auckland broke all kinds of records in their inaugural campaign as the Black Knights finished top of the Isuzu UTE A-League before falling to Melbourne Victory in the sem-finals.
Steve Corica’s side have bolstered their attack with talented Australian Lachlan Brook and English striker Sam Cosgrove, who finished second in the 2018-19 Scottish Premiership Golden Boot race. Aussie ace Jake Girdwood-Reich has also returned Down Under on a temporary deal from MLS to add quality to their defence.
One big question facing Auckland is in the goalkeeping department after star shot-stopper Alex Paulsen departed at the conclusion of his loan deal. New Zealand international Oli Sail has arrived to challenge Michael Woud for the starting position.
Re-signed: Logan Rogerson (2026-27)
New arrivals: Lachlan Brook, Oli Sail, Sam Cosgrove, Jake Girdwood-Reich (loan)
