Auckland City advanced to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup on Thursday with a 4-3 penalty shootout win over Moroccan champions Moghreb Tetouan.
With the score still deadlocked at 0-0 after extra time; Tim Payne, Darren White, John Irving and Sanni Issa converted their spot kicks for the victory to earn a quarter-final berth against Algerian side ES Setif on Sunday at 5am (NZ time).
