Graham Arnold was not a happy man after his Sydney FC underperformed but took all three points against a 10-man Melbourne City with a 3-1 at Allianz Stadium on Friday night.
City took a deserved lead in the first half before the Sky Blues incredibly scored twice in the final five minutes of the half.
Manny Muscat saw red in the second half and Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque scored a third with virtually the last kick of the game.
But Arnie was less than impressed.
“Sloppy. I wasn’t happy with that at all.
“It was very sloppy tonight,” Arnold told Fox Sports after the win which puts his side eight points clear of second with the rest of the round to play.
It was a point made by skipper Alex Wilkinson at half time, telling Fox the champions gave away too many balls and their passing was off.
“The positive out of it is you can win when you don’t play well,” added Arnold, who said his goal for the players was to get to 50 points in the league.
“We’re having a good run but I expect a lot better than that [tonight].”
However, the stats show Sydney FC clearly won the passing accuracy stats.
