Melbourne barista Jon Freeman has had a week he’ll never forget. First, Victory superstar Archie Thompson surprised him at his laneway café in Melbourne’s CBD.
The boys had a kick of the football in front of Jon’s Cup of Truth café as a stunned Jon got to meet one of his Victory heroes up close.
But the barista and fervent Victory fan got the shock of his life when Archie presented him with a special gift.

Today, Jon is on his way to Brisbane with an all-expenses trip to the Hyundai A-League Elimination Final at Suncorp, courtesy of NAB.
And Jon will also be on the pitch, tossing the coin with the captains before the big game.
“What an honour to flick the coin for the captions in tonight’s elimination final at Suncorp Stadium,” Jon told www.a-league.com.au from Melbourne airport on Friday.
“And to meet both captains of Brisbaine Roar and Melbourne Victory… still can’t believe it.”
Jon’s café (@cupoftruth) in Campbell Arcade Degraves St Subway is named so because his customers use an honesty system to pay for their caffeine.
It allows Jon and his team to focus on the all-important coffee making.
It’s a lovely idea and we hear the coffee is pretty good, too.
But this barista will be taking a break from whipping up lattes, piccolos and caps as Victory look to push on into week two of the Finals Series at Suncorp on Friday night.
“I would like to thank NAB, Melbourne Victory and the Hyundai A-League for this opportunity tonight.
“There are 27,053 other Victory members that deserve this just as much as I do so this is a real honour,” added an excited Jon.
So look out for Jon tonight.
And he had a final message to Archie’s Big V ahead of tonight.
“Come on you boys in blue!”
