He made a big impression in his starting debut last week and Central Coast Mariners young gun Mustafa Amini looks set to get another chance to showcase his skills on Friday night.
With attacking midfielder Patricio Perez still battling to regain full fitness, Mariners coach Graham Arnold looks set to hand Amini another starting role when Central Coast takes on North Queensland in Townsville.
Amini was outstanding in Central Coast’s 5-0 rout against Perth last week, impressing Arnold with his composure under pressure.
“At this stage Musty will probably start against North Queensland,” Arnold said.
“He would have taken a lot of confidence out of last week, it was something he’ll never forget.”
“He showed he’s got the ability. Now the challenge for him is to back it up with another good performance.”
“It’s another big match for him and the team.”
Arnold said Perez was making progress, but would not be ready to complete 90 minutes against the Fury.
If he plays any part in the match it will be off the bench.
Meanwhile, in-form defender Pedj Bojic is not expected to make the trip after injuring a hamstring against Perth.
Arnold will be forced into a backline reshuffle with captain Alex Wilkinson moving from central defence to right back to cover for Bojic.
Chris Doig would then come into the side and partner Patrick Zwaanswijk in central defence.
