American goalkeeper Beall swaps Racing Louisville for Western United

A season-long loan transfer to the Liberty A-League awaits Hillary Beall, who has joined expansion club Western United ahead of their inaugural campaign.

American goalkeeper Beall makes the move to Western from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Racing Louisville, where she played alongside A-League Women Championship-winning midfielder Alex Chidiac.

Beall, 23, joined Racing in February following five years at the University of Michigan and she will team up with Western in October ahead of their season opener against defending champions Melbourne Victory at City Vista Recreation Reserve on November 19.

“I am really excited to play for Western United FC. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to go down there and play,” she said.

“I’m grateful that Racing is letting me go down there for a bit and get minutes as a professional.”

Beall, who will team up with Alyssa Dall’Oste, was part of the United States’ squad at the 2018 Under-20 World Cup in France.

Western have already signed Matildas star Chloe Logarzo – who will feature in the ground-breaking A-Leagues All Access docuseries – for their historic first season in the ALW.

“I’m really excited about bringing Hillary into the side, she has a lot of standout qualities as a goalkeeper and I can’t wait to work with her,” said Western head coach Mark Torcaso.

“She has great height and athleticism and has proven herself over a handful of years in college to be an excellent shot stopper.

“I’m looking forward to seeing her compete with Alyssa and I’m sure they will both get the best out of each other, which can only be good for the team.”
