Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi has no doubts about his team’s ability to climb out of a form slump which has cast doubts over their title credentials.
The league-leaders suffered a second successive defeat in falling 4-1 at home to Adelaide United on Friday night and have now shipped eight goals in two matches.
However, Aloisi believes a rocky pre-season period for the club has steeled his side to see off a fresh challenge.
“Where we’ve come from is amazing, so I’ve got no problem with my players overcoming this little hurdle,” Aloisi said.

“It’s two games. It looks bad because we’ve conceded eight in two and we’re top of the table and no one expects you to lose like that.
“But this team here has a lot of character, these boys have a lot of character. I’m sure the supporters will support us next time we play at home and we’ll get through this period because we’ve got winners in this side.”
Conceding three second-half goals killed Roar’s chances of preventing a three-match winless run despite Henrique’s penalty seeming to set the platform for a late rally.
“We thought with the goal we were going to lift,” Aloisi said.
“I actually felt like we were going to run all over them, but then we gave away a silly goal and it ends up changing the dynamic of the game.
“They (Adelaide) slow it down, they break it up, play long (and) direct, try to catch you on the counter and then they did that.”
