Aloisi applauds Roar’s attack

Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi is excited by the attacking riches of his side after dispatching a winless Adelaide United 3-0 on Saturday night.

Brandon Borrello again starred at Suncorp Stadium as his brace bookended Roar’s third victory of the season and in the process moved the 20-year-old clear at the top of the Hyundai A-League scoring charts.

Aloisi praised his young forward’s off-the-ball work as key to making the most of classy supply from the likes of Thomas Broich.

“If he keeps persisting and making those runs he’s going to hurt the opposition,” Aloisi said.

“We looked dangerous going forward.

“I thought Thomas was excellent tonight, Matty McKay was brilliant again and then you’ve got those two up front that are lightning quick. That will cause any defence trouble.”

Victory moved Brisbane back within one point of league-leaders Sydney FC, who they will travel to meet in a top-of-the-table blockbuster next Friday night.

Aloisi says his in-form outfit won’t fear last season’s Grand Finalists.

“We’re confident against any side in this league,” the Roar boss said.

“But we know Sydney FC are a good side, Arnie is a good coach, and I’m expecting mind games from Arnie this week as he normally will (do).

“If we can keep improving we should be okay, but it’s going to be a difficult game. We’ll try to take the game to them.”
