Brisbane Roar have added some depth to their goalkeeping ranks with the signing of mature-age rookie Brendan White to their Hyundai A-League squad.
White has spent the last two seasons playing for Port Melbourne Sharks in the PS4 NPL in Victoria.
He joins current number one Michael Theo and Jamie Young as Roar’s shot-stoppers for the 2017/18 Season.
“When Brendan moved south to gain experience and test himself in the PS4 NPL Victoria competition, we knew of his talents and kept an eye on him,” Roar goalkeeper coach Jason Kearton said.
“He has shown that he is a quality shot-stopper who has worked hard to get this opportunity which he thoroughly deserves.”
White has previously been in Roar’s Hyundai A-League squad as an injury replacement player.
He has experience of beating Hyundai A-League opposition as well, during his time playing for Queensland PS4 NPL club Redlands United.
White was in goal on the night Redlands defeated then Hyundai A-League champions Adelaide United in the Round of 32 Westfield FFA Cup clash in 2016.
