Buy

Sarina Bolden (Newcastle Jets)

  • Price: $188k
  • Position: MID
  • Ownership: 3.4%

Sarina Bolden should be on every coach’s watch list heading into Round 9.

Bolden tallied 20 points in Newcastle Jets’ 4-2 win over Western United, thanks to a brilliant goal – taking her tally to three goals in three games- and an assist. The Philippines international is officially on the bubble this week (her first performance didn’t count to Fantasy total) meaning this is the last chance coaches will have to bring her in before her price rises.

In a bonus to coaches, Bolden is classed as a midfielder in Official A-Leagues Fantasy, meaning despite playing as a striker, her points will be worth more if she scores a goal – 10 points instead of eight.

She’s potentially the perfect option for coaches looking to trade out her former teammate Emily van Egmond – whose guest stint came to an end last weekend – or if you’re looking for a quick cash hit given her low price.

Hold

Daniela Galic (Melbourne City)

  • Price: $310.9k
  • Position: MID
  • Ownership: 17.6%

Daniela Galic has had a couple quieter weeks in Official A-Leagues Fantasy, but it’s not time to panic just yet.

The Melbourne City midfielder has tallied scores of zero and five in her last two weeks against Perth Glory and Central Coast Mariners, since her scintillating scoring run of 36 total points in the fortnight preceding her dip in form.

However, there’s a reason for this. Galic came off the bench against Perth due to just returning from international duty with the Young Matildas, before a slightly better outing in her return to the starting lineup vs Central Coast – where she played a little less than an hour.

Give the 17-year-old one more week to bounce back against Melbourne Victory, especially knowing their next two games after the Derby are against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United.

Sell

Emily van Egmond (Newcastle Jets)

  • Price: $391.9k
  • Position: MID
  • Ownership: 9.8%

Emily van Egmond’s time at the Newcastle Jets came to an end last weekend.

The Matildas star played the final match of her four game guest stint, ending it on a high with a goal and an assist in the win over Western United. For the 9.8% of coaches who brought her in, it’s now time to trade ‘EvE’ heading into their clash against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.

At $391.9k, Van Egmond is at a brilliant price to either upgrade her to another premium priced midfielder – for example, Rachel Lowe ($438.8K) – or even look to downgrade to someone such as Sarina Bolden ($188k), Susan Phonsongkham ($251.2k) or Grace Jale ($329.5k).

Zinedine Machach (Melbourne Victory)

  • Price: $298.6k
  • Position: MID
  • Ownership: 14.9%

‘Zizou’ is back in form!

After a few lean weeks, Zinedine Machach has roared back to his best in Official A-Leagues Fantasy. The Frenchman scored 24 points in Melbourne Victory’s emphatic 3-0 win over Sydney FC on Saturday evening, helping himself to a goal and an assist.

Machach is one of many Victory attackers such as Bruno Fornaroli and Daniel Arzani, who should be on watch lists, given their high scoring ceilings.

Two games at AAMI Park against Melbourne City and Adelaide United are on the agenda in the next fortnight, which present a huge opportunity for Machach to continue his hot streak heading into the new year.

And at $298.6k, he’s at a great price for coaches looking to bolster their midfield.

Hold

Joe Lolley (Sydney FC)

  • Price: $549.3k
  • Position: FWD
  • Ownership: 12.1%

Despite not scoring in his last two games, Joe Lolley has still been having an okay output with scores of six and seven in defeats.

The Englishman, however, would feel confident about turning things around this weekend at home against Western United; who have leaked 17 goals – the most in the entire competition.

Sydney have only scored in two games this season, with Lolley finding the net on both occasions, so best to back him in for at least one more week, especially in a game the Sky Blues simply have to win.

Sell

Lukas Kelly-Heald (Wellington Phoenix)

  • Price: $262.1k
  • Position: DEF
  • Ownership: 7.1%

Lukas Kelly-Heald was benched for the first time this season in Wellington Phoenix’s win over Macarthur FC.

If that’s a signal of what’s to come, it may mean it’s time to move on from the talented defender after a brilliant start to the season in Official A-Leagues Fantasy.

Kelly-Heald had his first drop in price this weekend, falling to $262.1K. Depending on budget, he’s at an okay price to either get a quick cash hit by downgrading him, or if you have the funds, looking for an upgrade to a premium priced defender.

Overall, it’s been a very solid start to life at senior level for the youngster, who has the equal-sixth highest points tally of all defenders (60 points) and has gone up $111.4k from his starting price.
