Fabio Gomes – Sydney FC

  • Price: $397K
  • Position: FWD
  • Ownership: 11%

After a slow start to life Down Under, Fabio Gomes is starting to deliver for Sydney FC – and for the 11% of fantasy managers who own the Brazilian striker heading into Round 12.

Gomes has scored four goals in his last three games and has a three-game fantasy points average of 17. Fabio only notched one single-round score above 10 in his first seven appearances but is having no such troubles of late, scoring freely for the Sky Blues and rewarding his owners in fantasy.

Jamie Maclaren – Melbourne City

  • Price: $360k
  • Position: FWD
  • Ownership: 38%

Maclaren backed up a hat-trick and 29-point fantasy haul in Round 10 with a three-point contribution in Round 11 – but don’t be too quick to shift the Melbourne City star out of your squad heading into Round 12.

Maclaren’s value is expected to rise by $50k after Unite Round, taking the reigning Golden Boot winner back above the $400k mark. Maclaren and City face Western Sydney this weekend; in his last three games against the Wanderers, Maclaren has averaged 10 fantasy points per game.

Sell

Marco Túlio – Central Coast Mariners

  • Price: $603K
  • Position: FWD
  • Ownership: 9%

As Marco Túlio jets off to Japanese club Kyoto Sanga, the Isuzu UTE A-League loses one of its top talents.

But for 9% of fantasy managers who still own the former Central Coast star, now comes the crucial decision of how to use his $603k value at the trade table.

Of all the forwards in the game, only Joe Lolley and Ángel Torres are more expensive than Túlio heading into Round 12, meaning there’s plenty of room to manoeuvre when selecting a replacement.

Vicky Bruce – Western Sydney Wanderers

  • Price: $381k
  • Position: DEF
  • Ownership: 2%

Western Sydney Wanderers defender Vicky Bruce is the sixth-highest fantasy scorer this season… but is currently in only 2% of fantasy teams.

Bruce is a consistent scorer and heads into Round 12 after an 18-point haul in Western Sydney’s 2-0 win over Perth Glory last time out. If in need of a differential selection, a defender averaging 11 fantasy points per game and with such low ownership is a worthwhile investment heading into the second half of the season.

Hannah Keane – Western United

  • Price: $354k
  • Position: FWD
  • Ownership: 10%

Hannah Keane missed Western’s 4-1 win over Melbourne Victory in Round 11, breaking her streak of 30 straight appearances for the club with a soft tissue injury.

But prior to her one-week absence, Keane was finding her feet as a consistent fantasy producer, with her three-round average of 11 eclipsing her season average of 9.3. Keane produced a season-high score of 17 in Round 10; keep an eye on the team news via Thursday’s Ins & Outs on aleagues.com.au for an update on Keane’s fitness prior to making the call to shift the American striker out of your team.

Sell

Vesna Milivojevic – Canberra United

  • Price: $424k
  • Position: MID
  • Ownership: 29%

By Vesna Milivojevic’s lofty standards, this season’s top fantasy scorer is currently underperforming for Canberra United.

After a knee injury in the final moments of her 35-point display against Brisbane Roar in early December, the initial fear was that Milivojevic was set for a long stint on the sidelines. Thankfully the injury didn’t require any time out of action – but the goals have dried up since for the 22-year-old.

Milivojevic scored all eight of her goals for the campaign so far in her first five appearances; in the five since, she’s managed just one assist – but attacking contribution did come in Canberra’s most recent fixture: a 3-3 draw with Newcastle.

Milivojevic’s fantasy value and scoring output has dipped in recent weeks. Patience could pay off in spades for fantasy managers who put their faith in Milivojevic to rediscover her scoring form, but for managers who can’t wait to see what happens in the coming weeks, her $424k fantasy value opens up the possibility to target a number of premium players, such as the in-form Daniela Galic (MCY – $441k) or Rachel Lowe (MVC – $300k).
