Melbourne City have re-signed defender Aimee Medwin ahead of the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season.
The 27-year-old returns to City, where she made her professional debut in Round 1 of the 2018/19 season, after spending the past four years with Western United and Brisbane Roar.
Medwin left Australia to play college football in the United States with the University of Mississippi and Long Beach State University before returning to the Ninja A-League in 2022.

She made 23 appearances for Brisbane last season, scoring three goals and providing three assists as the Roar reached the Semi Finals.
Predominantly deployed at full-back, Medwin adds further defensive depth to a City squad preparing to defend its Premiership and Championship titles while competing in the AFC Women’s Champions League for a third consecutive season.

Melbourne City Director of Football Michael Petrillo said Medwin’s versatility would be an asset to the squad.
“Aimee is a dynamic and versatile defender who we’re pleased to welcome back to Melbourne City,” Petrillo said.
“She has developed significantly since we first saw her as a young player, and her performances last season showed the impact she can have at both ends of the pitch.

“Her pace and ability to get forward give us another attacking threat from defence, while her flexibility will provide us with different options throughout the season.”
Medwin said returning to the club where her professional career began was a special opportunity.
“It’s really special to be coming back to Melbourne City, where I was fortunate enough to make my professional debut,” Medwin said.
“I’ve experienced a lot and developed both as a player and a person since then, so I’m excited to return and contribute to such a successful team.
“City has set incredibly high standards over the past few seasons, and I can’t wait to get started, meet the group and do everything I can to help us compete for more trophies.”
