Perth Glory announce 4 departures as off-season squad overhaul continues

Perth Glory have announced four players will depart the Isuzu UTE A-League club following the expiration of their contracts with Tass Mourdoukoutas, Yuto Misao, Takuya Okamoto and Hiroaki Aoyama all leaving.

Signed during the mid-season transfer window, former Western Sydney Wanderers defender Mourdoukoutas joined on a free-transfer and played eight games for the Glory in the latter half of the campaign.

Also joining in January on deals until the end of the season, Japanese defensive duo Misao and Okamoto leave having made 12 and six appearances respectively as head coach David Zdrilic looks to restructure his defensive unit ahead of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2024-25 season.

Finally 28-year-old midfielder Aoyama leaves the club after making five appearances during the course of the campaign after joining on a one-year contract having impressed during a pre-season trial.

Glory boss Zdrilic has certainly been active when it comes to recruiting new players ahead of the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season.

Having already announced deals for former Wellington Phoenix defensive duo Scott Wootton and Sam Sutton, Glory then pulled off a real transfer coup by signing two-time Championship winner Brian Kaltak from Central Coast Mariners.

Furthermore, the club have also signed Melbourne City’s teenage talent Arion Sulemani while 25-year-old Callum Timmins is also heading back to Western Australia, signing a three-year deal after leaving Newcastle Jets.
