Reigning Premiers Newcastle Jets have pulled off a transfer coup with the signing of former Sydney FC ace Joe Lolley on a two-year deal.
The Englishman’s four-year stint at the Sky Blues came to an end following the conclusion of the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League season, where he scored 36 goals in 115 appearances.
Establishing himself as one of the best players in Australia over the course of the last four years, Lolley brings a wealth of experience to Mark Milligan’s young squad ahead of a 2026-27 season that will see them compete on multiple fronts.

“We are extremely excited to have Joe onboard,” said Jets boss Milligan. “Joe has had a distinguished career but still carries a desire and work ethic for more.
“He possesses a willingness to continue to learn and test himself in football, his attitude and professionalism are exactly what we need as a club and playing group.
He continued: “For everything he adds on the field he will add as much off. He will be exciting our fans and helping guide our young footballers along the way.
“We have a challenging year ahead and look forward to having Joe help guide us through that.”
Lolley’s arrivals goes a long to way to filling the void left by the likes of Clayton Taylor, Lachie Rose and Lachlan Bayliss, all of whom left the Jets for pastures new at the end of the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign.
