Adelaide United manager Marco Kurz is confident of causing an upset in the Westfield FFA Cup Final following Thursday’s morale-boosting win over the Mariners.
Ryan Kitto scored a 93rd minute winner in Gosford to complete a come-from-behind victory and end the Reds’ three-match Hyundai A-League losing run.
It was a timely result for the visitors as they attempt to become the first club to win the Cup twice.
“We will do our best job on Tuesday,” Kurz said at his post-match press conference.
“I think Sydney is the favourite but we have a very good team and we feel confident.
“We are ready for the Final.”
Kurz revealed that Johan Absalonsen, who has missed the last four matches with a thigh injury, is a chance to feature at Allianz Stadium.
The return of the Danish winger would be another welcome boost for Adelaide, who were heading toward a fourth consecutive defeat until Daniel Adlung’s thunderbolt kick-started a fightback at Central Coast Stadium.
“The players stayed calm, concentrated and had high focus,” Kurz said.
“A big compliment from my side to the boys.”
