Adelaide United head coach Carl Veart said there will be changes made to his line-up after addressing the team’s “weakness” following their 1-1 draw against Brisbane Roar in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
The Reds are now four games without a win and down to fifth in the table, though they could end the weekend in sixth spot.

Adelaide’s performance against bottom side Brisbane resulted in a scathing press conference from boss Veart, who did not hide his dissatisfaction post-game in South Australia, where the Reds struggled in the second half.

“The first 10 minutes of the second half we were okay, after that we were non-existent,” Veart told reporters.”
“Too many players went hiding and weren’t prepared to do the work. Simple as that.”
Crawford’s maiden A-Leagues goal gave Adelaide a half-time lead but the 18-year-old’s moment of magic was cancelled out by substitute Brazete in the second half as Roar looked more likely to win the match.”
He added: “We didn’t keep the ball. We didn’t look to play forward.
“It was just not good enough for a team pushing for a top-two spot that was unacceptable.”
Asked if it was the most disappointed he had been this season, Veart replied: “Most definitely.
“Last week (in 4-4 draw against leaders Auckland FC) I thought the energy and effort was fantastic. It’s probably the best it’s been all season.
“Then to come back home, playing against the bottom team and put that performance out is unacceptable and there will be changes made to the team from that.”

In their three games at home against the bottom three sides at the time, Adelaide have now dropped points against Brisbane (draw), Newcastle Jets (loss) and Perth Glory (draw).

“It’s a mentality thing,” Veart said. “It’s a bit of a weakness of our side. The proof is in the pudding.
“They might not be happy I’m saying that, but it is.
“You cannot be dropping points at home to the bottom teams if you want to be winning things.”
