After the club’s best season in Ninja A-League history, are the reborn Reds ready to launch a Championship assault in 2025-26?
From the wooden spoon to third in just one year, Adelaide notched a club-best points haul of 45, helped by a mid-season run of 11 games without defeat – the longest unbeaten streak in club history – to finish inside the top four. From there, the Reds won a Finals Series game for the first time in club history, defeating Western United to reach the Semi-Finals.
That was where their journey ended, with defeat over two legs to Melbourne Victory – but now, Adelaide are back under new head coach Theo Tsiounis with the appetite to improve on the club’s best-ever campaign.
Tsiounis replaced Adrian Stenta at the helm of the club’s Ninja A-League side in the off-season and brings a decade of coaching experience in South Australia’s National Premier League and State Leagues to the role.

Under Tsiounis, Adelaide have recruited strongly with Holly Murray, Lara Gooch, twin sisters Adriana and Melissa Taranto, Emilia Makris and Paige Zois all joining from rival Ninja A-League clubs. The new recruits join a string of re-signed players from last season’s history-making team with intent to make a charge further up the table into the top two this season.
