Adelaide United head coach Carl Veart said the Isuzu UTE A-League outfit are working on a deal that will send Alexandar Popovic abroad.
Popovic has been linked with a move to South Korea and K League 1 side Gangwon FC.
The talented 21-year-old centre-back, who has emerged through the ranks of boyhood club Adelaide, is not in the squad for Round 14.

On Popovic’s potential international move, Veart told reporters: “It’s something that the club is working through at the moment.

“There’s an opportunity for Alex to move overseas. We’re still sorting through things. We hope it all works out for him.
“We’ve put a lot of time and development in Alex and it’s good to see that paying off.”
Popovic would be the latest player off Adelaide’s famed production line to earn a move abroad after teenage sensation Nestory Irankunda earned a transfer to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich – the 17-year-old will leave at the end of the season.
After making his A-Leagues debut in 2022, Popovic has made 40 league appearances, scoring two goals.
In 2023-24, he has scored once in 12 Isuzu UTE A-League matches for the Reds.
