In a clash that’s set to excite fans, traditional rivals Adelaide City and West Adelaide will meet in the Coca-Cola Federation Cup final with the winner taking South Australia’s spot in the Westfield FFA Cup final round of 32.

West Adelaide claimed its place after defeating Western Strikers in the semi-final 5-1 on Wednesday night.

The two former NSL rivals will meet at Coopers Stadium, the home of Hyundai A-League club Adelaide United, on May 31 with an expected crowd of around 5-10,000 tipped for a game with so much at stake.

With a trophy and a spot in the round of 32 at stake – the round when Hyundai A-League clubs join the Cup – this clash is sure to reignite memories of the clubs’ epic rivalries from NSL days.

The next stage of the Westfield FFA Cup, the round of 32, is to be played at the end of July when Hyundai A-League clubs join the draw.

Adelaide City secured its position in the final following its 3-1 victory over Croydon Kings in the first semi-final held a week earlier.
