Adelaide coach Veart to miss both Victory clashes after testing positive for COVID

Adelaide United will be without head coach Carl Veart for both upcoming fixtures against rivals Melbourne Victory after testing positive for COVID-19.

Veart returned a positive rapid antigen test on Tuesday and is awaiting the result of a PCR test, while two more players contracted coronavirus on Monday, Adelaide announced.

Adelaide assistant Ross Aloisi will deputise for Wednesday’s FFA Cup quarter-final clash at home to Victory as well as the Isuzu UTE A-League away fixture in Melbourne on Saturday.

The rest of the men’s squad and staff returned negative test results ahead of the midweek showdown with Victory at Coopers Stadium, where Adelaide are coming off Saturday’s 4-0 league rout of Wellington Phoenix.
