Adelaide United are on red alert for towering French-born striker Frédéric Mendy in tonight’s Asian Champions League clash with Jeju United in the Korea Republic.

Mendy came off the bench when the two met last month, scoring within seven minutes of his introduction.
Now the Reds are preparing to face him again on the popular tourist island of Jeju off the coast of the Korean peninsula.
“Mendy is a very good player and very tall player,” Adelaide United defender Dylan McGowan told reporters on Tuesday.
“Last time when he came on, a lot of balls were coming in the air and we’ll have to deal with that again.
“As a defensive [unit] and as a team we’ll have to deal with all their players – not just Mendy, but all their players.
“Their Korean players and their foreign players are all very good.
“We’re away from home and we expect Jeju to attack,” he said.
REDS REVITALISED AFTER RESURGENCE
Adelaide United are winless through the first three games of ACL group play, with their solitary point earned in a 3-3 home draw with Jeju in mid-March.
But their recent Hyundai A-League improvement has them confident of getting the result they need.
McGowan has played more A-League minutes this season than any other player.
“We’ve prepared all week and all season to [play] in the Champions League and to win games and this is what we plan to do,” he said.
“All the players are fit and ready to play.
“Last time we played Jeju it was a very close game.
“We’ll have to play very well to win the game, but we’ve come here to win,” he added.
