A tale of two strikers

Shane Smeltz and Besart Berisha might both be set to become fantasy gold, simply because both strikers finally have their tails up.

All Aboard! The strikers with Mohawks’ train is finally ready to leave the station in season 2012/13.

Yes I know it-s taken a while but both Shane Smeltz and Besart Berisha are starting to show glimpses of dare I say it… form.

And being the confidence players that they are it might be about to rain down goals for both their somewhat struggling sides.

For much of this season Smeltz has looked mopey and despondent, an injury getting the best of him and as for Berisha well dare we say he-s been at his best when paying lip service to any opponent or fan who was silly enough to get suckered in by his barbs.

But in round 15, Berisha was energetic and netted two goals, it could have been more if Thomas Broich actually had of raised his head on a couple of occasions and found the Albanian screaming for it in open space.

Sure, one of those was from the penalty spot and the other one was from close range, but it was on an angle and he still had to beat the keeper with an awkward volley.

As for Smeltz he found the goal with his foot and with his head as waves of relief flooded through nib Stadium, their marquee man bursting the back of the net for the first time in what seems an eternity, when it wasn-t from the spot.

While Smeltz and the Glory will have the tough task of blasting past the Reds in Adelaide, Brisbane have a much-easier task when they take on the Jets and you can bet a reinvigorated Berisha will be keen to continue his goalscoring form and try and challenge for the Golden Boot. I-m officially saying it, if you don-t have either of these two get them in your team.

Before we get to who to see and who to buy this week, it-s worth looking at some of the notable outs for the week.

The following fantasy favourites are out: Marcelo Carrusca, Nigel Boogard, Fabio Ferreira, Michael Thwaite, Trent Sainsbury, Tom Rogic, Paul Ifill, Manny Muscat, Michael Marrone, David Williams.

Buy: Besart Berisha Love him or hate him, there-s no doubt he scores goals and with a brace behind him he might be about to go on a goal spree. At $243,500 he is the second cheapest player in the top-ten scorers and value.

Sell: Marcelo Carrusca Yours truly has been an advocate of this guy all season, but having made over $100,000 on him since he started the year and with him gone for up to three weeks now might just be the time to cash in the chips and trade up. Admittedly there aren-t too many better fantasy players, but a cash influx is always welcome, especially if you want to buy Marco Rojas.

Team of the Week: (The highest scoring team in a valid formation. It may not actually be possible to select this team.)

Formation 3-4-3 | Total Points: 256

Finally congratulations to our Weekly winner Josh who manages Beefy Hotspur and picked up a $100 VISA Moneycard and had five members of our team of the Week in his squad. After 15 rounds the competition leader is Frank, whose team Sobriquet have a slender 18 point lead over their nearest rivals.
