Liberty A-League Champions and Premiers Sydney FC have bolstered their attacking stocks with the signings of Shea Connors and Zara Kruger.
Connors arrives at the Sky Blues after a short stint in the NWSL with San Diego Wave, where she played as a national team replacement for USA superstar Alex Morgan during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Prior to joining the Wave, the 27-year-old attacker was awarded Brisbane Roar’s Player of the Year Award and Golden Boot last season, with six goals and two assists from 18 games in the Liberty A-League.
Overall, the American striker scored 14 goals in three seasons at Brisbane and holds an incredible NPLW Queensland goalscoring record, firing home 78 goals in three seasons.

“It’s a great season to be joining Sydney FC with the record numbers of members and I’m keen to play in Sydney at a time when there’s so much hype for women’s football after the World Cup,” Connors said.
“I can see that we’ve a really strong squad already and I’m keen to help the girls defend the titles.”
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Kruger arrives after also spending last season with Brisbane, where the attacking midfielder made 10 league appearances and earned regular call-ups to the Young Matildas.
“Sydney FC has a proven track record of helping young players improve and move forward with their development,” Kruger said.
“I’m excited to be joining this Championship winning squad and working with an excellent group of players and coaching staff.”
Coach Ante Juric said he’s looking forward to seeing what the duo can offer the Sky Blues this season, as they look to reconfigure their attack in wake of losing the likes of Madison Haley and Rachel Lowe.
“Shea and Zara will add flair and excitement to our attack this season and it’s something for our Members to look forward to,” he said.
“Shea is a natural goal-scorer with pace and a real eye for goal. She is a great fit for our front line.
“Zara is a young and energetic attacking midfielder who will flourish in our environment.”
The duo are the Sky Blues’ sixth and seventh new arrivals this off-season, joining Lucy Johnson (Newcastle Jets), Margaux Chauvet, Aideen Keane (Perth Glory), Tori Tumeth (Melbourne City) and Sienna Saveska (Western Sydney Wanderers) as the club’s latest signings.
Sydney begin their season on October 14 against Western Sydney Wanderers at Allianz Stadium.
