Ulises Davila re-signs with Macarthur and he has one key message

Macarthur FC captain Ulises Davila has signed a contract extension with the Isuzu UTE A-League side.

Davila’s renewal will see the Mexican star remain with the Bulls until the end of the 2025-26 season.

The former Chelsea attacker has established himself as a key pillar of Macarthur’s line-up, scoring 25 goals and supplying 10 assists since joining the club in 2021.

Davila is the Bulls’ all-time leading goalscorer across all competitions and he also captained the team to Australia Cup glory in 2022.

“I’m very happy, to be honest. I feel this club, this place is like my home,” said the 32-year-old.

“I’m happy to stay here and spend more time with this club and play with them.

“It was just so easy to say yes to stay here longer, trying to achieve big things with the club, and really help all the young players that are coming.”

In 2023-24, Davila has scored eight goals – his best return since 2019-20 – and recorded four assists in 22 Isuzu UTE A-League matches to help Macarthur sit fifth in the standings.

He also scored four goals in the AFC Cup.

“I think we are all very happy to have Uli re-sign. I think we all know what it means to the club,” said Macarthur head coach Mile Sterjovski.

“We are pleased to have him and we’re looking forward to having more success together with him.”

Bulls CEO Sam Krslovic added: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Uli. As our captain and a leader, he embodies the essence of our club’s culture.”
