Robbie Kruse has bid farewell to Brisbane Roar, confirmed as one of five departures from the club at the conclusion of the 2022-23 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The 34-year-old is joined by Josh Brindell-South, Joe Knowles, Jordan Courtney-Perkins and Marcel Canadi in heading for the Roar exit door.
Kruse completed his Queensland homecoming in February, signing for the club that launched his career in 2007. He returned to the Roar with 75 Socceroos caps to his name, amassed across a club career that included stints in Germany, China and at Melbourne Victory in the A-League Men.

But injuries prevented Kruse from making an impact on his Roar return; he received eight minutes off the bench in a Round 17 draw with Sydney FC in February, but underwent knee surgery in mid-March, and was sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
Knowles, meanwhile, departs the club after one season in orange. He made 21 appearances after securing a contract with the A-League Men club off the back of stellar form for NPL Victoria club Oakleigh Cannons and a pair of impressive friendly outings for Brisbane against Premier League clubs Leeds United and Aston Villa whilst on trial in the off-season.
Left-back Brindell-South made 42 appearances across his three seasons at the club, whilst mid-season recruit Marcel Canadi failed to make an impact, making just four substitute appearances in the back half of the 2022-23 campaign.
Courtney-Perkins returns to Polish club Raków Częstochowa at the conclusion of his loan contract at the Roar.
