Western United goalkeeper Filip Kurto earned Save of Matchweek 6 for his fingertip intervention which denied Melbourne Victory striker Elvis Kamsoba a near-certain goal in the Battle of the Bridge in Matchweek 6.
Chance after chance fell to either side throughout the entertaining contest but both United and Victory walked away with a point each with no goals to show for their efforts.
In the 90th minute Kamsoba had the chance to win it all for Victory. Jake Brimmer set up the opportunity on goal with a deft pass which opened up enormous space for Kamsoba in the box.
The Burundi international shot first-time, attempting to curl the ball around Kurto and into the back of the net. Kurto’s intervention was minor, but vital, brushing the ball with his left glove to divert it away from the roof of the net and over the bar.
