A-League Save of Matchweek 24 – Daniel Margush

Western Sydney Wanderers goalkeeper Daniel Margush’s save on a dipping, swerving shot from Adelaide United forward Craig Goodwin has been awarded Save of the Week for Matchweek 24.

The Wanderers were ahead of Adelaide 2-1 in the 51st minute of play when Margush pulled off the save to keep Goodwin off the scoresheet. The Reds star would go on to net the equalising goal in a 2-2 draw, but he was made to work for his goal by Margush.

Goodwin called the Wanderers shot-stopper into the magnificent save when poised with the ball just outside the penalty area. As the Western Sydney defenders backed off Goodwin shaped to shoot, and Margush moved to his left in anticipation of the ball angling toward the top-right corner of goal.

But Goodwin’s shot swerved back in the opposite direction, asking Margush to show quick thinking to get back across and tip the ball over the bar with a strong right glove.
