Adam Federici produced a magnificent save with his right leg to deny Central Coast Mariners striker Matt Simon a goal, earning himself Save of Matchweek 23 in the process.
The Macarthur FC goalkeeper had to be at his best to keep Simon out after Josh Nisbet found the Mariners forward in space inside the box with a neat through ball tucked around the outside of Bulls defender Aleksandar Šušnjar.
Simon ran into the path of the ball shaped toward the tip of the six-yard box and diverted his close-range shot from the right side of the box toward goal. Federici stood his ground before the ball arrived in his vicinity, then the ‘keeper proceeded to stretch his right leg out to connect with the on-target strike.
Federici’s studs came to the rescue for the Bulls as the ball flashed wide of the bottom-left corner.
