INS AND OUTS: Star Socceroo is BACK

Jay O’Shea (Brisbane Roar)

  • Price: $699K
  • Ownership: 9%
  • Three-round average: 22.0

He’s the best-performing fantasy asset heading into the final two rounds of the Isuzu UTE A-League season – and for Brisbane Roar’s Jay O’Shea, history awaits against Sydney FC on Monday afternoon.

The Roar creator has scored in six consecutive games; his fantasy stocks have soared as a result, with his three-round average of 22.0 points well above his season average of 11.7.

O’Shea’s six-game scoring streak is the equal-longest in Brisbane Roar history, level with club legend Besart Berisha’s six-game tally notched between January and February 2012.

The Irishman will be full of confidence heading into his side’s clash with the Sky Blues – but in Sydney FC he finds the perfect opponent to truly earn his seventh goal in as many games.

O’Shea has scored against every single opposition throughout his time at Brisbane Roar – except for Sydney. Should he complete the set on Monday, O’Shea will go out on his own as Brisbane’s record holder for goals in consecutive games.

Jason Cummings (Central Coast Mariners)

  • Price: $484K
  • Ownership: 29%
  • Three-round average: 12.0

It’s Jason Cummings’ favourite time of the year.

On Saturday, this season’s third instalment of the F3 Derby kicks off in Newcastle. It’s a fixture Cummings has thrived in throughout his two years in Australia.

The Mariners and Socceroos striker has faced the Jets four times in the A-League Men, scoring five goals, and at least one in each of those games.

Jason Cummings celebrates with Mariners teammate Moresche during an F3 Derby victory over Newcastle on April 23, 2022.

Jamie Maclaren (Melbourne City)

  • Price: $359K
  • Ownership: 46%
  • Three-round average: 11.7

Round 25’s Grand Final rematch between Western United and Melbourne City poses the perfect opportunity for Jamie Maclaren to continue chipping away at Besart Berisha’s all-time record of 142 A-League Men goals.

Maclaren was closing in at a rate of knots early in the season, but goals have dried up of late for the City striker. He sits two goals shy of Berisha’s 142-goal tally – but considering his record against Western, he will fancy finding the back of the net at least once this weekend.

Maclaren has scored 11 goals in 11 career appearances against the reigning champions.

Jamie Maclaren takes aim during his side’s 1-1 draw against the Mariners in Round 24.

Henry Hore (Brisbane Roar)

  • Price: $402K
  • Ownership: 4%
  • Three-round average: 10.3

Brisbane Roar’s Henry Hore went close to scoring one of the goals of the season last time out, twisting and turning through a sea of Wellington Phoenix bodies before crashing a shot off the crossbar.

It was a sign of the confidence of the 23-year-old playmaker who has breached the 10-point fantasy mark in four of his last seven games.

Hore has a three-round average of 10.3 points, and is outperforming his season average of 6.9 considerably. He’s in form heading toward the end of the season, and will look to continue figuring prominently in his side’s attacking play when hosting Sydney FC at Suncorp Stadium on April 24.

Oskar Zawada (Wellington Phoenix)

  • Price: $498K
  • Ownership: 2%
  • Three-round average: 13.0

The inevitable Oskar Zawada will look to fire Wellington one step closer to a spot in the Finals Series as his side travel to face Western Sydney Wanderers at CommBank Stadium on Saturday night.

The Polish striker is on an incredible stretch of form. He’s been directly involved in 13 goals in his last 13 league appearances (11 goals, two assists), and heads into Round 24 off the back of scoring and assisting against Brisbane Roar.
