In the one and only Isuzu UTE A-League fixture, Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers played out a 2-2 draw at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Then in the Liberty A-League, Western United and Melbourne City drew 2-2 after a pair of absolute stunners, then Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers played out a 1-1 draw as both captains scored – and there was a slice of history.

Only 14 days after Talia Younis became the youngest player in A-Leagues history, her record was broken by teammate Ischia Brooking who came off the bench in the 95th minute, aged 14 years and 347 days, claiming the record by 13 days.

She played only one minute against the Jets. Not a bad way to start a career!

Marcus Antonsson’s first goal in the Isuzu UTE A-League helped Western Sydney Wanderers salvage a 2-2 draw away to Newcastle Jets on Sunday afternoon.

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos’ brace had given the Jets a 2-0 lead in their first home match of the season at McDonald Jones Stadium.

However, the unbeaten Wanderers clawed back the two-goal deficit thanks to Josh Brillante and Swedish import Antonsson as the Jets were left still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Western Sydney were awarded a penalty late on, however, it was overturned after a review.

An 86th-minute thunderbolt from substitute Kahli Johnson saw Western United register a draw for the first time in their Liberty A-League history, coming from behind to take a point in an exhilarating 2-2 stalemate with Melbourne City on Sunday afternoon.

It looked like goals from Holly McNamara and Hannah Wilkinson would be enough to see City secure their first win ever against Western after Hannah Keane’s early strike was cancelled out.

However, Johnson’s incredible late strike flipped the script and saw the spoils split.

A stunning volley from Newcastle Jets captain Cassidy Davis saw her emerge as the hero on her milestone night, helping her side come from behind to seal a 1-1 draw against Western Sydney Wanderers in the Hunter on Sunday night.

Davis, who surpassed Tara Andrews to become the most capped female in Jets history, found the net in the 92nd minute to cancel out an opener from Wanderers skipper Vicky Bruce.

A match that looked destined to be distinctly unmemorable exploded to life in the final stages, with those two goals and a slice of A-Leagues history as the Wanderers broke the record for the youngest player in competition history for the second match running.

The added time introduction of Ischia Brooking saw her break teammate Talia Younis’ record – which she took off Sam Kerr only a fortnight ago – making her debut aged 14 years and 347 days old.
