Melbourne Victory have re-signed former Napoli and Marseille midfielder Zinedine Machach for a further two seasons.
Machach has been a hit since joining Victory ahead of the 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign, scoring six goals and supplying three assists in his debut season Down Under.
The 28-year-old Frenchman’s strength and ability with the ball has made him a fan favourite and one of the most exciting players in the competition.

“We’re thrilled to be able to have Zinedine locked in for another two seasons at Melbourne Victory,” said Victory’s director of football John Didulica ahead of Victory’s clash with Perth Glory on Sunday.
“Zizou’s approach to his time in Australia has been exemplary from the time he arrived at the club and has shown on the pitch that he is a game-winning player.
“His contribution on and off the pitch has seen him earn this extension at the club and we’re looking forward to what he can achieve over the next couple of seasons.”
Machach’s six goals this season represent a career high for the Frenchman, whose previous best return was three goals for Hungarian side Honved in 2021-22.
“I have enjoyed my time in Australia and I’m excited to be continuing my adventure at Melbourne Victory,” Machach said.
“The club has brought out some of the best in me as a footballer and as a person and the environment at Victory is one that drives me every day.
“The fans have been incredible in Melbourne. They have shown me the love and support coming from so far away and I want to make sure I deliver for them over the next period.”
