Adelaide United have confirmed midfielder Juande’s departure from the club at the conclusion of his contract.
Juande made 12 appearances for the club this season before a horrific leg break in Round 14 against Melbourne City at AAMI Park. The Spaniard spent the remainder of the season sidelined as the Reds reached the Isuzu UTE A-League Semi Finals.
The 36-year-old spent three seasons at the club, making 53 appearances across all competitions. Juande joined Adelaide after two seasons at Perth Glory.
“It is very sad to be leaving Adelaide United for myself and my family,” Juande said.
“This is not the way I would have liked my time to end but I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to represent the Reds.
“This season has been incredibly difficult for me after my injury, but I am proud to have been part of such a strong team and I wish them the best for the future.
“For now I will focus on my recovery and come back better than ever. Enjoy the life.”
Adelaide head coach Carl Veart said: “On behalf of everyone at Adelaide United, I want to thank Juande for his professionalism and dedication to our club.
“He has worn his heart on his sleeve and given everything each time he’s stepped onto the field.
“I wish him the best for the next stage of his career and hope to see him return to football as soon as possible.”
