Squad news

Adelaide United could welcome key figures back into the fold for Friday night’s meeting with Wellington. Striker Hiroshi Ibusuki is firming for selection after a two-game absence with a calf injury. Zach Clough is recalled to the squad along with defender Nick Ansell and Jay Barnett, whilst Bernardo (illness) and Jonny Yull drop out of contention for a spot in the Reds squad.

For the visitors, meanwhile, illness has prevented Nikko Boxall from travelling to South Australia, whilst Ben Old continues his absence through injury.

Sydney FC welcomes Robert Mak back to the fray ahead of Saturday’s Sydney Derby. The Slovakia international missed Round 26 and half of his side’s clash with Brisbane Roar in Round 25 with a hamstring injury. In another major boost for the Sky Blues, Jack Rodwell returns to the squad after missing one week due to a concussion suffered against the Roar.

Joe Lolley is the big question mark for Sydney FC; reports suggest a position on the bench is likely for Lolley on Saturday after a hamstring injury suffered in a routine win over Newcastle Jets in Round 26. Meantime young striker Jaiden Kucharski is suspended for collecting a red card against the Jets.

Western Sydney have named a strong squad for Saturday’s derby, without any key personnel dropping from their Round 26 squad.
