A-League Goal of Matchweek 21 – Andy Keogh, chosen by Robbie Slater

There was only ever going to be one winner of Goal of Matchweek 21 after Perth Glory striker Andy Keogh lobbed Western Sydney Wanderers goalkeeper Daniel Margush from distance on a memorable night for the striker at HBF Park.

FOX Sports analyst Robbie Slater awarded Keogh Goal of the Week honours for his second of four goals scored against the Wanderers in Perth’s 5-1 win.

Keogh’s first-time volley from well outside the 18-yard box caught Margush by surprise as it sailed over his head to drop over the goal line.

Slater says Keogh’s strike will go down as one of the best the league has seen throughout its history.

“A pretty easy one, there were some other fantastic goals but you can’t go past Andy Keogh,” Slater said.

“In his four-goal haul against the Wanderers, the second one was quite exceptional. Nodded down by Fornaroli, first touch, hits it on the volley over an advancing Margush.

“To be able to see that and execute was absolutely extraordinary. Not one of only the goals of the Week, but one of the great A-League goals in history.”
