Team overview/chances for season ahead:
New coach Phil Stubbins has added some quality players to his squad, especially in the front third with Marcos Flores, Jeronimo Neumann and Ecuadorian striker Edson Montano.
But it’s in midfield and defence where the Jets could be really tested, with a host of injuries disrupting their pre-season. It’s lead to them re-signing Zenon Caravella** on the eve of the season.
Will fancy themselves to cause a few shocks throughout the season but hard to see the Jets seriously challenge for a top sixth berth.

The Argentine attacker is a proven goal-scorer in the Hyundai A-League and will relish linking up with fellow South Americans Flores and Montano. If the Jets are to break their drought and make the finals for the first time in five seasons, a lot of it could come down Jeronimo’s goals and creativity.
Bargain Buy:
Jonny Steele ($118,000)
With a wealth of midfield talent leaving the Jets at the end of last season, a huge amount of responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the all-action Northern Irishman. Like his name suggests, Steele will add some grunt to the Jets’ midfield and if his performances in pre-season are anything to go by, he is one to watch in the up-coming campaign.Â
