Adelaide welcome back young star in transfer coup from Ligue 1: ‘For me, it’s home’

Yaya Dukuly has returned to Adelaide United after re-joining the Isuzu UTE A-League outfit from France.

The talented 21-year-old winger has signed a contract until the end of the 2025-26 season in a boost for the Reds following his departure from Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims.

It is a homecoming for Dukuly, who made 14 appearances for Adelaide after debuting in 2020-21 before leaving for Reims alongside teammate Mohamed Toure in 2022.

Dukuly featured 30 times for Reims’ reserve side but never made a first-team appearance.

“I am incredibly honoured and excited to re-join Adelaide United,” Dukuly said.

“I have always enjoyed my time with Adelaide United and I can’t wait to re-connect with my new teammates.

“It’s a great club with a great culture and the best fans in the league.

“I can’t wait to play in front of a packed Coopers Stadium in front of the passionate United supporters. For me, it’s home.”

Adelaide boss Carl Veart added: “We are delighted to welcome Yaya back to Adelaide United.

“He is a player with tremendous potential and fits perfectly into our style of play.

“His speed, skill, and hunger to succeed will undoubtedly bolster our attacking options and add a new dimension to our game.”
