We’re down to the final matches of 2017 with some entertaining clashes to look forward in Round 13.
And there’s a few squads with some important players returning to give them a major boost for the weekend.
We’ve picked out five stars who could make a big impact for their respective sides this weekend.
Wout Brama (Central Coast Mariners)
The Dutchman is back for the NYE blockbuster after missing the trip to Adelaide through suspension.
Brama’s class and experience in the middle of the pitch will be vital for the Mariners and also allows playmaker Daniel De Silva to move back into his preferred ‘number 10’ role.
Johan Absalonsen (Adelaide United)
The speedy winger was one of the Hyundai A-League’s standout players in the early rounds of the season until injury curtailed his campaign.
Adelaide have certainly felt his absence at stages and his return will add some extra guile and goal threat for the clash with Roar at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.
Daniel Georgievski (Newcastle Jets)
The defender has been one of the Jets’ best recruits this season and a major reason behind their rise to clear second on the Hyundai A-League ladder.
He scored in the last clash with his former club Victory and will relish the return to AAMI Park for what should be a Friday night classic in Melbourne.
Jacob Italiano (Perth Glory)
Is there a more exciting teenager in the Hyundai A-League now than the Perth Glory playmaker?
Unlikely. Has skill and composure beyond his years and could be an x-factor for Glory as they look to end Sydney FC’s imposing home record on Saturday night.
Roy Krishna (Wellington Phoenix)
If Wellington is to start moving away from the Hyundai A-League basement, the return of the flying Fijian could be crucial.
Gives Phoenix’s attack more pace and creativity and Krishna also provides an added goal-scoring threat alongside leading scorer Andrija Kaluderovic.
