AS WELL as introducing a new sponsor, Gold Coast United also put their new playing kit on display for the first time today with Club Captain Michael Thwaite modelling the home strip for the cameras.
Produced by Australian company Fi-ta, United-s new playing apparel achieved the tick of approval from the players with CEO Clive Mensink saying the playing group had plenty of input into both the new design and the fabrics used.
“Our players have enjoyed input into the design of the new home and away strips, as well as the training apparel and casual wear. They-ve also tested the fabrics in a training environment and are very happy with the products they will be wearing this coming season.
“The colours are of course the same, but a fresh, vibrant design keeps the strip modern and appealing to supporters. I-m sure our fans will be as pleased and excited about it as we are. The new apparel will be available to supporters towards the end of this month, which will include the new home and away kits, along with other casual garments,” he said.
Club captain Michael Thwaite modelled the new strip for the cameras and was thrilled with how it looked and felt.
“It-s important that the playing kit feels nice to wear and breathes properly when we-re on the field. The fabric is the key to that and we-re all very happy with it.”
During their three-day stay on the Sunshine Coast, United will play a pre-season friendly against Queensland State League Premiers Sunshine Coast Fire at Stockland Stadium tonight (Wed 10 Aug). Kick off is at 7.00pm.
